About the Business Area/Department:

Amadeus Airport Cloud Use Service (ACUS) is a next-generation, Microsoft Azure-based Common Use platform. Through application virtualization technology, ACUS brings airline Departure Control Systems (DCS) and other airport applications to the cloud, enabling on-demand access to passenger processing systems anytime, anywhere.

Our team focuses on integrating airline and airport applications into the ACUS platform, enabling seamless interaction with airport peripherals and Common Use environments. We work across software development, system integration, automation, troubleshooting, and deployment to continuously evolve the platform and support reliable operations for our customers.

Summary of the role:

As part of the ACUS team, you will play a key role in expanding the number of airlines and applications available on the platform. You will develop scripts and interfaces to integrate third-party airline and airport applications with ACUS and enable their interaction with certified airport peripherals.

The role goes beyond integration development: you will also contribute to middleware, APIs, backend services, automation, and internal tools, while supporting testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production activities. You will collaborate with multiple technical teams to solve complex integration and connectivity issues and continuously improve the reliability and scalability of ACUS solutions.

In this role you’ll:

• Work autonomously within established processes and methodologies, taking ownership of technical solutions and helping resolve complex technical issues.

• Analyze software and integration requirements to develop new solutions and enhance existing systems.

• Design, develop, test, debug, configure, implement, and document software applications, APIs, interfaces, middleware, and integration solutions.

• Develop and maintain backend services, integration components, and automation solutions that enable reliable and scalable system interactions.

• Coordinate installation, configuration, deployment, upgrade, and validation activities across different environments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software, connectivity, system integration, and production issues.

• Perform unit, integration, package, and performance testing to ensure solution quality and reliability.

• Apply software engineering best practices and contribute to CI/CD and automation initiatives.

• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, operations, and support teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Support customers and internal stakeholders by investigating incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

• Ensure integration solutions comply with security, governance, and quality standards.

• Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to promote engineering best practices.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.

Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to less-experienced team members when needed.

About the ideal candidate:

• A hands-on Software Development Engineer with a strong background in software development, system integration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with Java, scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell, REST APIs, middleware, Windows environments, TCP/IP communications, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Citrix, Ansible, serial communications, airport technologies, or IATA standards such as CUPPS and ITPS is considered a plus.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices, Git, CI/CD, automation, testing, and Agile development methodologies, as well as the ability to take ownership of technical solutions throughout the development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex software, connectivity, integration, and production issues.

• An autonomous, proactive, collaborative, and adaptable mindset, combined with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical teams, customers, and stakeholders across different locations and cultures.
Ability to share knowledge and provide technical guidance to less experienced team members when needed.
