This role is 100% remote and requires a self-starter, self-learner, and a team player who can reflect our core values in day-to-day activities.

You will collaborate closely with property management personnel, senior management, and our external CPA, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. If you enjoy combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution—and want to make a meaningful impact—this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

1. Bookkeeping & Accounting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all multifamily properties.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements; manage general ledgers; ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Oversee rent rolls, tenant ledgers, and property-specific financial documents.

2. Accounts Payable

  • Process and review invoices; correctly code expenses; manage vendor payments.
  • Coordinate with property management to ensure prompt and accurate payment of expenses.
  • Monitor and optimize cash flow to meet ongoing financial obligations.

3. Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance for each property.
  • Prepare and present reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow) to ownership and management.
  • Calculate and forecast reserves, plan for capital expenditures, and assess debt service requirements.

4. Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with property management teams to align operational budgets with financial goals.
  • Coordinate with external CPA for tax preparation, audits, and compliance.
  • Communicate financial insights and recommendations clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

5. Administrative Tasks

  • Support administrative activities tied to property management (e.g., lease documentation, vendor agreements).
  • Maintain organized digital records, ensuring data security and confidentiality.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to streamline accounting and reporting processes.

6. Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertinent to multifamily real estate finance.
  • Stay current on U.S. multifamily real estate finance best practices, tax laws, and industry trends.
  • Advocate for and introduce new tools or systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred but not required).
  • 3+ years of professional finance/accounting experience, ideally in real estate or property management.
  • Hands-on experience with multifamily or residential real estate portfolios is a major plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, AppFolio, or similar platforms).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, financial modeling, data analysis).
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and familiarity with U.S. real estate tax regulations.
  • Experience with property management softwares such as AppFolio, Resman, Yardi is a PLUS

Soft Skills

  • Fluent in English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a remote setting.
  • Self-starter and self-learner capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to transform data into actionable insights.

Other Requirements

  • Must embody our core values of Extreme Accountability, Trustworthy Conduct, Customers First, and Striving for Excellence.
